If you had to compare fan bases in the B1G and BigXII. Who would be similar to who?

Prolly Texa$$ and Michigan

Oklahoma and OSU

Colorado and Iowa

TTech and Mich State

Baylor and Northwestern

Okie State and Illinois

Can't really say I know about too many others.

Aggies and Wiscy if A&M were still there.

tosu=ou

mich=texas

wiscy=aTm

iowa=cu

nw=baylor

minny=isu

msu=osu

indiana=ku

psu=mizzou

ill=tcu

purdue=wvu

this was done without much thought and judging the programs more than just fan bases. just my quick perception. some of the lower tiered teams were hard to gauge.

Nebraska = Oklahoma (football tradition)

Ohio State/Michigan = Texas (dolla dolla bills ya'll)

MSU = Oklhamo State (both suffer from little brother complex)

Northwestern = Baylor (smart people)

Indiana = Iowa State (modest midwesterners)

Iowa = Kansas State (arrogant midwesterners)

Purdue = TCU (not sure...)

Illinois = Kansas (enjoy football, but basketball is more important)

Wisconsin = West Virginia (relatively new to success, not afraid to let everyone know)

Minnesota = Texas Tech (both just kinda seem lost, get a glimmer of hope, then get lost again)

I have no idea where to put Penn State now. Pre-Sandusky, I would have seriously thought about putting them with Nebraksa and Oklahoma , but now...

Sparty really should start throwing tortillas at people.

I would enjoy that

From our time in the Big XII:

Nebraska = Ohio State

Oklahoma State = Michigan State

Kansas = Indiana

Kansas State = Northwestern

Missouri = Illinois

Oklahoma = Michigan

Texas = Penn State

Colorado = Iowa (I think this is universal)

Baylor = Minnesota

Iowa State = Purdue (not a great analogy but I'm running out of options)

Texas Tech = Wisconsin

Texas A&M = Ran out of teams

Shouldn't Nebraska=Nebraska? Then you would have equal number teams.

Nah. I think Nebraska and the Buckeyes are really, really similar. Met a bunch of their fans, I hang out on one of their message boards, and we're pretty compatible.

I also like most of my other analogies.

Yeah but wouldn't Nebraska be even more similar to Nebraska?

But I get what you are saying and do see the similarities between most of the others. Mostly just trying to give you a hard time.

From strongest to weakest correlation:

Kansas = Indiana (fans biding the time for basketball season)

Missouri = Illinois (exact same fans, different school colors--I live amongst them)

Colorado = Iowa (jackasses = jackasses)

Texas = Michigan (smug dickwads with vastly overinflated opinion of team)

Oklahoma = Ohio State (smug dickwads with slightly better team than above)

Texas A&M = Penn State (unreasonably overzealous douchebag fan base disconnected with reality)

Baylor = Northwestern (nerds)

Iowa State = Purdue (nerds with engineering degrees)

Oklahoma State = Wisconsin (small amount of success and they think they rule the world)

Texas Tech = Michigan State (worship a coach savior of the program (except TT already crucified their savior))

Kansas State = Minnesota (90 years of crappy football + 5 years of success--at different times)

Nebraska fans = no peers. (Only one group of fans can be the best fans in the world.)

/ Okay, before anyone jumps all over me, that last sentence about NU was a joke making fun of our own oversized ego as a fanbase.
