I'm gonna be a man and say it

The Meredith hit was clearly a helmet to helmt hit, and it was, in my opinion, correctly flagged. Mizzou fans -- be pissed at him. Don't just play patsy to the announcers. What happened with Courtney, is he went in for the hit, Gabbert saw him, and crouched. That is why the hit looked worse than it would've have been. Well, Gabbert's head might have bounced off the turf if he hadn't crouched to protect himself.

My question is this. What is Courtney suppose to do? Go after his legs? Yeah right, and give him a horrible knee injury.

This announcer has obviously found a "path to fame". Take the latest thing in football and complain about it.

Also Mizzou fans -- what about the hit Stoops talked about on the return for a TD. Are you willing to owe up that that guy should have been suspended too?
Can't speak for others, but I'm not complaining about either one. I think both were much different than the Martin hit last week. Martin had a clean shot in the open field and could've easily squared up and drilled the kid in the chest. Both these hits today were split-second decisions while rushing the QB, one of them in traffic.

Flag, maybe, but a suspension is too harsh, IMO.
I have to say T-Nuts...you're pretty classy for a Mizzou fan. I hope you stick around :thumbs
Classy when I'm not disagreeing with anyone, right? :)

I just try to be objective, which is rare, I guess.

Meredith's looked properly flagged. Osborne's hit appeared flaggable, but I haven't had a good second look at it from a better angle. Neither was intentional, nor was Martin's.

Nothing wrong with disagreeing. Lot of us disagree with each other. It's just you're way of disagreeing doesn't come across and pissing and moaning

Hey, according to the current rules of the game both those hits should have been flagged. But neither of them were blatant. Meredith ran a twist and Gabbert stepped up in the pocket and BANG.

Osbourne's hit was a case of a offensive player dropping his head as he gets tackled.

Anyone who's ever played this game knows things happen quickly and once you start your momentum you cant stop it.

I don't think this can be iterated enough: Martin's hit is controversial among different people, but there are two things I know for a fact. First, Martin did not lead with his helmet (as claimed by the Big 12), and that player should have been anything but 'defenseless'.

You're charging down the field on kick coverage trying to light up the opposing player. Instead, you are meandering your way down the field not keeping your head on a swivel. That's a coaching problem, and nothing more. That kid should know to be paying attention when people are trying to block him, especially when he is supposed to be going for the kill himself.

I have a huge problem with where this rule interpretation is going.

Lets all just do what good ol' Joe Paterno said and take away the face masks!

"Guys would have to worry about broken noses, knocked-out teeth, which we would like to prevent, but you don't get anything for nothing. We used to have a single bar. Now we have weapons."

Hell lets just go back to leather helmets!
