I like the two-tone. I thinks it's just another uniquish ( :wacko: ) addition to memorial stadium. As far as grass, I think football should be played on grass too, but for the sake of maintenance costs-especially in this area of the country-an artificial turf is the way to go. My question is, why was the black stuff even an option.

 
The Two tone field reminds me of the plaid pants Herb Tarlek wore on "WKRP in Cincinnati".

The field turf is a great improvement over the "astro" artificial turf..

Too bad it smells like old tires.

Teh "Black" was a nice touch ...to get teh younger crowd involved.

The two-tone is a little too pronounced for me. It's probably more pronounced than any other two-tone field in FBS outside of Eugene. Many teams have two-tone fields that you barely recognize as such without looking closely (here). I like that. Plus, the lighter tone on our field almost has a yellowish tint in certain lighting, like a chartreuse.

 
When you put "The hideous 2 tone green we have now", you wouldn't be showing your bias and trying to influence others, would you? :LOLtartar

 
Maybe THAT's why they did the "hideous" fade job on alternate strips.

It was to make it look (not so real) so that the opposing cheerleaders would stop trying to graze.

I'm beginning to appreciate it now.

I can't even imagine how rediculously hot black turf would get during the summer. It would melt your skin off whenever you went down.

I voted for the way it is now. It brings a modern look to Memorial, and I think it looks pretty sharp.
