Insight Bowl

Did any of you guys see the team quit this year. Did it ever appear they were not trying.

I never did, I saw a team that wanted to win, did everything it could to try and win, played through every play and gave us everything they had. I for one will support any bowl they go to, applaud them for their efforts. They have worked nearly every day for a year to be able to attend a bowl game, win a NC and CCG. Things did not go as they planned or we dreamed.

Not supporting them in what ever bowl game is quitting on the team in a way. I know none on here are doing that.

Not as pretty as we wanted, but a date is better than setting at home.
:yeah

As I mentioned in my status update, win #11 is still within reach. So far we've one-upped our previous season every year since Pelini took over. 9 wins in '08. 10 wins in '09. 11 wins in '10 is possible and quite fitting when you think about it.

Regardless, I'm proud of our guys. I still have faith in Bo. If we could sit through 22 years of "falling short" during the Osborne era, then surely we can muster up enough strength to get through season 3 and 4 of the Pelini era.

First off, I'm new to HUSKERBOARD.com. So I will say Whassup to all members who've come before me :throwdabones1:

Now as far as possibly playing in the Insight Bowl or even the Alamo Bowl,etc.... To be quite honest, I'd rather pass on any bowl that's not a BCS bowl. This season was all about going to the BCS Nat'l Championship Game or at the very least the Fiesta Bowl on our way out of this god forsaken conference. Now that its definitely not going to happen for either the BCS NC or Fiesta Bowl, I really don't care to go to any bowl game. I'm sick and tired of going to the Holiday Bowl, Alamo Bowl, Cotton Bowl, or whatever TRASH CAN BOWL that is miles beneath the standard set by this program many moons ago..... If it ain't the BCS NC, Fiesta, Sugar, Rose, or the Orange I'd rather Dr. Tom and Bo sit it out, especially when our talent level is BCS Bowl caliber.

Remember, Husker Nation is one of the few programs in college football who's measuring stick is Conference Championships and Nat'l Championships. Everything else is irrelevant, particularly when we are loaded with talent like we are this year.

If we were a rebuilding program, then lower tier, trash can bowls are Ok, even understandable--as it serves as positive stepping stone for big and better things in the future. However, we're not rebuilding, we are a championship, BCS Bowl caliber unit and the Insight, Alamo, Holiday, Cotton route is unacceptable and should be declined on principle alone.

don't be foolish, we get good money for going to any bowl game....

I hope we don't end up sounding like tiger fans. You go to a bowl you get 22 more practices, that's huge for young players and for the seniors a fitting end for all the hard work. I get to see them one more time

Pardon me if I don't break out the pom poms. I'd like to just say "Yes. Yes I did see the team do just that at times this year." I think the significance of the N on the side of the helmet has been lost with the current crop of players (and many of the fans, for that matter). I expected to see a lot more effort and certainly more consistent play on BOTH sides of the ball than what I saw this year. You can make all the excuses for it that you want. With excellence now a decade removed, I suppose it gets easier to make those excuses. People tend to forget the high bar that the program once had--one that the current crop of impetuous youth never experienced or could understand at their age.

Let me ask any of you this one, very simple question: If this year's Cornhusker team were to play last year's Cornhusker team in a bowl, who do you think would prevail?

If you have to think about that answer, then do we call that progress?

you are crazy if you think the effort wasnt there
On the defensive side of the ball, but once again the offense looked petrified the whole game...well all except when they were running the wildcat, but they can't do that all game! Oh no! Shawn Watson has a plan!
