Many of the events (except swimming) have pretty much leveled off. "Womens" discus have dropped dramatically since drug testing has come about.

Beamon's jump was incredible but Carl Lewis being #2 & #4 eight years apart (and with only two of his golds) is neigh on unbelievable.
