Interesting discussion from Summer '08

Scout had an "Experts Discussion" prior to the '08 season asking about how these tradition-rich programs would rebound over the next three seasons. Each expert was asked to give "2010 Rankings For FSU, Michigan, Miami, Nebraska, & Notre Dame". Here's where they thought Nebraska would be among those five.

---------------------------------------------

Charles Davis: 5th (25th overall)

Pete Fiutak: 4th (23rd overall)

Steve Greenberg: 2nd

Teddy Greenstein: 3rd (13th overall)

Dennis Dodd: 2nd ("top 10" overall)

Richard Cirminiello: 3rd (24th overall)

Bruce Feldman: 5th

Stewart Mandel: 4th

Greenberg probably had the most accurate ("1. FSU 2. Nebraska 3. Miami 4. Notre Dame 5. Michigan") although he was probably off on FSU at least somewhat. The others he ordered very well, including being the only person to predict RichRod would not have Michigan turned around by 2010.

Although we still don't know for sure how each team will do next season, but we're a lot closer now, and according to Nationalchamps.net early preseason rankings, here's where those teams are expected:

10. Miami

12. Nebraska

Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida St. all unranked.

If I had to guess right now, knowing what I know...

1. Nebraska

2. Miami

3. FSU

4. Notre Dame

5. Michigan

4 & 5 are interchangeable IMO.
