A young Oklahoma mother shot and killed an intruder to protect her 3-month-old baby on New Year's Eve, less than a week after the baby's father died of cancer.

First guy through the door had a ten-inch hunting knife. Boy, I'll bet he was surprised. I applaud her.

 
I hope she is handling it OK. Terrible situation for her but I'm glad that they are safe. Absolutely justified.

 
She would also have the right to file a civil suit against the killed man's estate for damages to her home, cleaning services, and mental distress, etc. She would also be able to sue the surviving burglar as well.

She was on the phone for 21 minutes and a cop still wasn't there. Textbook case for our 2nd amendment. Justified 100%

 
The surviving burglar is being charged with felony homicide, I believe. In Oklahoma, if you're a party to a crime where someone is killed, you are culpable for the murder. Dude goes "looking for drugs" (his story) and ends up (potentially) on death row. Sucks to be him.

 
U know: do the crime do the . . . . .. yeah baby stooped

Hope there is a good support group there that can help her get over this traumatic event.

I love the dispatcher, when asked if it was OK to shoot when he came through the door... "I cant tell you that, but you do what it takes to protect that baby"

 
Incidents like this make it hard to believe that we have folks who think you DON'T have the right to protect your own....................
