****Iowa Game Day Thread****

Do we fire rhule? No. It takes time but do you change things if you are him? You better. He changed the special teams coach and that was a home run. Time to do the same with DC and I believe the boring lack of creativity OC. I also stop accepting Alabama or other teams rejects. I age 2 people on my staff that do nothing other than watch film on lower D1,D2 teams and look for players that have proven their worth their and more importantly look like they are hungry to win and face it get paid. This is what Iowa did and they just killed us with their qb. Yes you need young players but then again do you? Since they can leave every year, unless they are die hard Huskers from birth why bother to try to build a team with freshman. They will leave if they are any good. Go get the players that want to play hard just like the Iowa player play year in and year out. Not super talented but want to win
 
They edited my F word. I don’t give one single **** what Rhule has to say after this latest collapse. And it is a collapse.

We didn’t just lose, we got overwhelmed and stomped on. The Texasing Iowa team just stomped our asses into the ground. We are so out classed.

Even Rhules knows he screwed the pooch, but he got a few more bucks in his account and now he knows if we fire him we will pay huge. He wont make the required changes i'm guessing and we will continue this BS until we decide to have an AD that actually hires a guy who has better than a 500 record and has Big 10 experience.
 
If we have to stick with Rhule for 2 more seasons, he will drive this program even further below what was the Frost era. Wondering now if Mickey Joseph should not have been named coach...........that was the last time I truly saw a Husker team play with passion and physicality to match Iowa.

Rhule needs to go study tape on the Nebraska teams under Osborne & Solich.

Forget about the option, just study those teams' basic running game of (Inside/Outside Zone, Counter, ISO, Trap, Sweep) and study how physical they were.

He could then go study North Dakota State from the last 15 years.

THAT is the blueprint Nebraska has to get back to.

I'd love some of the NDSU to come here tbh. I know he's not flashy, but Entz is HC at Fresno St. Would he come here as DC?

When I was a kid in the 80s and 90s I used to just consume stats and wins and wonder how we could be so good for so long.
Since my dad was a coach for N, I got to walk in the trophy room and see giant silver bowls filled with Oranges and giant pictures of all our great players. I have literally watched every game since 1982. Been to many games at the stadium every year and made my kids into Cornhusker fans.
In my late 40s now and I just look at our pathetic time line and losses. It’s so sad what we have become and how far we have fallen.
We as fans do not deserve this. We look out-classed, out-coached, at every turn.
I’m so proud of our boys that play their asses off and work so hard to be good. But we are in a purgatory of winning a few games we should and losing really really bad to teams that we should beat and/or at least be competitive with.
The stadium is emptying out now. We are losing our asses off. And I don’t give one single **** what Rhule has to say. This is embarrassing and I don’t see it getting better.

Do the players really work hard? A few sure. But not many. The effort level is night and day compared to any of the Iowa player EVERY year
 
A true good coach would not have let the Penn St talk derail the Minnesota game. That was the turning point for this season, and we didn't handle that situation, it was allowed to fester for a week or two and cost us a loss, which was a bad loss.
