Is BC sane?

Four-Star Recruit
The man seems to lack emotion unless its cursing at OU fans. He didnt seem upset or displeased with the teams performance yesterday.

"It's a step forward because it's a win," Callahan said. "These wins are hard to come by in this day and age because of the way people are playing football. We see that across the country. You would always want things to go a little bit better, and it didn't, so you have to deal with that for the duration of the game. Our ability to stay in the game, to keep rallying, was outstanding."

WTH?

Most of that is just coach-speak. He does that every week with the press. I prefer that to cheese-fries Mangino nearly having a heart attack on the sideline when his player showboats.

Seriously. BC is a class act, and he handles the media much, much better than the vast majority of coaches out there. Displeasure is reserved for chewing out his players over film, not for throwing them under the public media bus.

Btw, what he said is true, if a bit exaggerated. It's not like he's up there lying.

There are many more teams out there who are capable of realistically taking down the usual top tier teams. Such close games between two opponents who aren't really on the same level, like we saw yesterday, are happening more and more in college football, because the gap between the levels is closing.

Also, our ability to hang in there and keep rallying was impressive. I think it showed character in the offense, especially Keller who had a monster game.

How bout "Im proud of our guys today for coming out with the win, but we should have never been in the position we were in. We played poorly. I'm really disappointed in the way we played. I take the blame for that but, we gotta learn from this and move on. We have lots to work on but Im sure the guys can handle it, and youll see the improvements next week."

Classy but also not sugarcoated crap.

That would be fine, but from what I can remember of his conferences, it's not his style, especially after a win. Normally he's very focused on the positives after a win with his coach-speak. It's just his style, it doesn't bother me. I've heard some people voice concerns that it means he doesn't care about the team or their success, which is just laughable.

Well, lets see -- he gets fired and publicly ridiculed by EVERYONE for saying the truth about his team in Oakland. Now, people want to jump on him because he is not willing to openly speak the truth out his team in public. Wow.

Maybe BC should just go with the Drew Rosenhaus approach, instead.

That would work as well.............. :thumbs

Ask Louisville or Alabama or Texas Tech if they would take a 1 point win. Yep. NU played like crap, lost the turnover margin, had fewer total yards, and needed a defensive score to win. But, damn it, it is still a W, and on a week where there was some hang over from the USC loss last week.

I guess in the long run the W's are all that matters, but it's just sad to see our (what used to be) blackshirts just destroyed like that!!!!

Yeah, but I think it's the fact that our defense has now looked worse and worse for 3 games running (with the last being 600+ yards against :o ) that scares people for future games...me included. I sure hope they can get things turned around to some degree.

BC does not go in front of the media and add insult to injury. I would guess that he will deal with the problem in house (and rightfully so). As for his demeanor, I will take BC interview anyday over the babbling and studdering of a Solich post game interview. God, I could hardly stand listening to that guy....painful, very painful.
