Is Michigan State our new 'Oklahoma'?

For years Oklahoma was a thorn in Tom Osborne's side. He could win every other game but Oklahoma was the 'big one' that he could never win. Is Michigan State our new 'Oklahoma' or is it Ohio State? We have beaten both of these teams and Wiscy as well. What do you think?

It is too early to tell because of a small sample size. I'm going to be leaning towards Wisconsin as we will not be be playing Michigan State much after 2015.

We have lots of thorns in our side. It's a symptom of not being an elite team.

LOL, we are 8-2 against them, and Pelini is 3-2 counting his interim coaching bowl win. What do I think? Not at all.

If we can become the West power I think we will become it could become Ohio State.

Personally, I hope we become someone's "Oklahoma", or we can just convince the Big Ten to bring in Oklahoma.

I'd prefer the Big10 bring in a few more Kansas's....heh heh...

Not even close! We match up pretty good with Michigan State and have played close games. Let's face it, they get good quarterbacks who have made it to the next level, have good RBs who have made it to the next level, and they play defense. They are a tough, well-coached team, but they are beatable.

Can Michigan State sustain their current level of success when Dantonio retires? Narduzzi, I have to believe will be their replacement.

"Oklahoma was a thorn in our side" is the understatement of the millenium; OU-NU was a college football rivalry for the ages.

Michigan State isn't even in our division, so barring title games we'll play them twice every four years. This is essentially what killed our rivalry with OU - the Big 12 realignment. Our new big "rival" if we eventually reach that status with any B1G teams, is likely to be Wisconsin. But certainly have developed some kind of "rivalry" of sorts with MSU; each game we've played them in has been very competitive and usually pretty meaningful for one or both teams.
