I was just out in that area this summer. Went through Chadron to the Black Hills. Beautiful areas.Well, unless we're going to root for our sandhill cranes or chimney rock, the Huskers is about it. Maybe carhenge.
I live in Central Texas and there are 3 other Husker families in my neighborhood. We truly have a national fanbase.I haven't found that location plays a role in how diehard a fan is. There are a lot of Nebraska expats around the country that are as avid as anyone living in Lincoln.
