More recycled nonsense. I was listening to Sipple on the radio yesterday and he was saying how this Big 10 expansion stuff is so great for journalists because without it they'd have absolutely nothing to talk about. We are very much in the throes of the offseason when the story is just the same old same old recycled tripe we've heard half a dozen times already.

yeah, i take Sip not coming up with a story with a grain of salt. I mean, seriously...the guy is a REPRORTER with access to players and coaches that any fan would Shuck Corn for? Yet, he prints out loud that without expansion talk he has no story???? He only needs to pick one player about every 3 days and interview him and let us Husker fan read about where he's from, why he chose N, what he's doing in his civic duties, how he feels as a Husker, how he's grown physically, mentally, sprititually, etc...Damn, i'm begging for some news about Thorell, Whorley, Martin, OL Jonses, news from Gilmore how he's bringing along WR specifically (SPECIFICALLY!), if Helu is gaining weight/overall health, Kunalic redshirting, Carl Pelini developing as DC or not, Cotton's views as Oline begins maturation, where was Mcneill in spring game...need more ideas Sip?

What are they going to say though? That bio stuff is on Huskers.com. You could pump out the same happy/fun story about every kid every day or two, how they're gaining muscle, getting faster, they love it here, etc, but do those stories amount to anything other than filler?
And to be clear, it wasn't that Sip wasn't coming up with a story, it was a conversation about someone else, in relation to all the expansion buzz that's going on, all of which amounts to so much hot air. Sipple and all the other reporters churn out their boring fluff pieces every day like clockwork. None of it means much, though.

I had a college professor tell me something once (one of the dozen things I actually learned in college, surely which was OUTside of class!) which was:
Don't tell people that you are supposed to be informing about your difficulty in reporting/coming up with topics!
I know there are plenty of 'walk on' story this, 'hard life' story that...but SURELY don't tell us that Expansion talk is the only story that wakes you up in the morning! I simply DEMAND more, especially someone with access.
Why not talk about player feelings on whether they think the Stadium rocks on Saturdays? Do they like the student section seating chart? How is it on campus with peers after a win v loss? Does HuskerNation really travel well in their eyes? Do students approach them during the week whether they are friends or not, and ask what they think about the game? How much does your Mom get to see you play, if your an out of state student? Do you have a personal relationship w/ Bo now that you're on the team and not a recruit anymore? Does your position coach fill in that void? How are meeting rooms..equal for all? Boring? Did you think college ball was going to be this mental v physical? When you get reps in practice, how does that compare to reps in games? Do certain players DEMAND attention, or are all personalities welcome? Anyone young or old on the team that just stands out as an individual? Is it weird not knowing people on the team, even though they are your teammate?
Dude, i've thought of 13 questions off the top of my head i haven't seen answers to, let alone the one's listed from my earlier post..from ONE player, let alone 20! Don't tell me investigating Husker players, WHEN YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THEM!!, is some difficult task!!
