AUSTIN – Texas freshman quarterback Jevan Snead has asked for a release from his scholarship in order to transfer, a source close to Snead said Wednesday.

 

Snead's availability for Texas' bowl game could be in question because Snead wants to enroll at a new school in January, the source said.

The three schools mentioned in the Austin paper are TCU, Houston and Louisville. The first thing I thought of was Oklahoma too but that's apparently not on his list. He will loose a year but I think will still have three years of elligibility because he could redshirt next year at his new school. Someone correct me if I am wrong about that.

 
in conference transfers lose you a year on eligibility and a year to sit out. Add that in with moving to the archrival and it isnt a good idea.

 
Louisville would not be that bad of a school for him. I think their second string quarterback is a junior this year, so he could come in and start in 2008.

I was thinking the same thing. He could put up a lot of numbers in the Big East, and make it to a BCS bowl every year.
