Joe Dailey named starter

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina coach John Bunting has named Nebraska transfer Joe Dailey as the starting quarterback for Saturday's season opener against Rutgers.

Bunting shied away from calling it a two-quarterback system, but he says redshirt freshman Cam Sexton will play.

The coach said he's been impressed with Dailey's decision making, his grasp of offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti's West Coast offense and his comfort in Chapel Hill.

What kind of West Coast are they running in Chapel Hill??

Must be pretty watered down

Its a better version, one that is easier for college kids to grasp and one that will better utilize JD's abilities as opposed to the one that NU runs in which they did not modify it to utilize JD's abilities.

What abilities are those??
Sinse I'm not at the practices, I can't say for sure. From what the coach said, it will utilize his speed and his ability to get out of the pocket, to be a playmaker.

What do you mean you're not at practice?? ;)

Sounds like Joe is doing well. Good for him.

Oh his great ability to run out of the pocket on fourth down with no time left just to run out of bounds giving his team no chance at winning the game. Plus, if North Carolina's offense is so much better than ours, then why are they not winning more games than us. dedhoarse

Maybe they will rethink it after a few drive killing picks. Man, you see the sun rise day after day, you tend to count on it.
