Jon Wilner, AP voter who hates NU

NUance

Assistant Coach
Jon Wilner voted OU #3 (only one guy voted them higher). He voted NU #14 (our lowest vote by 5 places). OU edged us out of the 6th place spot by 9 votes. What a d!(k move Jon Wilner. This jerk single handedly jumped OU over NU this week.

Here’s the link to rate Jon Wilner a bad voter: linky (you can only rate one voter “bad” and one voter “good”).

meh. ou should be in front of us at this point. and neither of those ranks are too crazy. #3 for OU is a little hard to justify bc then they are above either oregon or boise but this is nothing to get worked up about imo

This is the qualification of someone being a jerk? Really? Who cares, he's entitled to his opinion.

Who really cares at this point. All the BS games are over its time to nut and play and votes/rankings will iron themselves out.

Did we really looked like the #7 team in country last week??? No, so i cant really blame him for putting us 14th. Even though OU does look better they teams they played so far could all prob have a winning record at the end of the year.

We keep winning... this is irrelevant...

Precisely. I never get too worked up about rankings. If we take care of business on the field, this stuff will work itself out.

For what it's worth, I think OU deserves to be ranked ahead of us. They've played a tougher schedule, and while they haven't always won convincingly, they've won.

Lowest vote by 5 places is not a big deal.

A top 10 team doesn't perform against SDSU like we did. heck, not even a Top 15 team. I wouldn't say he hates NU, but he is down on us compared to some. But it's a crazy season. Hard to have much of a read right now on a lot of teams.

Stanford loses by 19 points and Wilner drops them 1 spot. It’s our bye week, OUR BYE WEEK, and he drops NU 2 spots. Does that sound reasonable?

Okay, so maybe NU’s drop is due to our poor performance last week against a weak team. Well, look at OU. Wilner votes OU #3 two weeks ago. He kept Oklahoma steady at #3 even though OU got lucky to narrowly get by Cincinnati (after Cinnci fumbles away the game, and the refs hand OU a couple of questionable calls). Does the #3 team need a couple of fumbles and favorable ref calls to beat that mighty football powerhouse of Cincinnatti?

Say what you will. (And I'm being a bit sarcastic when I say he's an NU hater.) But you have to admit that this guy Wilner is one of the worst, most erratic voters in the AP poll.

he definitely seems to have an agenda or a bias. i am more disturbed at how high he has ou and the disparity he has between ou and nu. some teams are pulling away at the top, and ou is not one of them. ou has not proved anything more than NU. vote nu high, but ou should be nearby, for what he does makes me want to cry, his vote is a lie.

Yeah, I think Wilner is either smoking crack. Or has his head up his crack.

I still think its messed up that he voted us #14 during a bye week. If you are going to give us a crap ranking, then do it during the week that we actually play.

This guy probably sucks, but the rankings aren't too crazy. Sagarin's rankings have us at 16 (134th ranked schedule in DI) and OU at 5. Washington's the only real team we've played, and even they are borderline. If we win the next three their won't be a soul (or computer) out there keeping us out of the top 10. Just remember this guy is something like 1/70th of a poll that doesn't even count in the BCS.

Again, even if he is, and even if he doesn't like us........who cares?
