Josh Mitchell - Vocal Leader

Josh Mitchell is certainly known to be goofy at times, but the Nebraska senior seems to have a more serious tone this spring.
As the lone starting cornerback back from last year's squad, Mitchell has taken on a new role as the vocal leader of the defense. His teammates have taken it in stride.

"Has he (been more vocal)?" linebacker Michael Rose said. "Josh has been the most vocal. Josh Mitchell is the vocalist of the year right now. Josh is talking, talking, talking."

Even when he's not on the field, it's common for Mitchell to keep close tabs on what the defense is doing. He can almost always be heard barking orders from the sideline during practice. Especially if one of the second-string corners gets out of position and gives Ryker Fyfe an opening to fire a bullet for a 10-yard gain.

"Ryker Fyfe firing a bullet for a 10 yard gain"....LOL..this is Ryker's year!

I love it. It seems like there just aren't very many vocal leaders any more, but it's great for teammates to hold each other accountable and motivate themselves. We need those kinds of personalities.
