I must say GOD WAS IT LOUD!!!! I haven't been back to Lincoln in years so I can't remember how loud it was there, so I can't compair the two. I took my 8 year old to his first Husker game and I think he will remember this one for the rest of his life! My son and I got to stand down on the field for most of the game. (Not next to the psycho wannabe Army guys aka Aggies). I stood close to the Husker side. Man some of those Husker kids are HUGE!!!!!!!!! Murtha looks like a tower. Anyways.....I was really bummed out the second half. Seeing Zack toss that pick towards the end of the game, I thought it was all over but the crying. For some freak of nature, I told my son we were going to stay since this was the only time we can see the Huskers this year in person. THANK GOD WE DID. When Purify caught that pass I swear to god I picked up my son and tossed him 40 feet in the air! Anyways....all my son and I could talk about was not giving up at whatever it is that you are doing. (but I got to be honest, if I was at home watching this game, I probably would of turned the TV off prior to the end too) Want to shut up 60 thousand plus in a stadium? Score with less then a minute to go! Anyways....WE ARE THE BIG 12 NORTH CHAMPS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bonez

I think one of the coolest things was listening to the Huskers on the side lines late in the game. Cosgrove was barking out orders to the Defense and even with the crowd noise I could hear him. As I looked at the side lines I was so proud to be a Husker fan! None of them had their heads down after Zack threw that pick. They kept picking each other up. When they blocked that FG, the entire side line errupted. Another great thing was seeing Zack and Purify talking just before they went back on the field for the game winning drive. I had that wierd feeling that my son and I were going to see something very special!

What a report and a highlight indeed. This is the most memorable game that I can imagine in the Bill Callahan era.

Such a cool account, thanks for sharing

Great times and better to share with your son. There is no place like Nebraska Football. :)

I can only think of one better way to spend that game and that is with me there instead of your son. I mean come on. :sarcasm :sarcasm :sarcasm

What a great way to show your son his first Husker game. That kid will be a Husker for life and is the envy of every eight year old in Nebraska

LMAO! Yeah like I stated last week....My ole buddy who I went through the Police Academy with is now a A&M Police Officer. He got me side line passes and I must say what better game to be down on the side line at? :restore There were a few times where I would of loved to have drew down on some of those Aggie "cadets". That friggen hissing was so damn annoying! Oh and the horse laugh was pretty undesirable too! If my 8 year old hadn't of been with me, I had a few comments about the "horse calls"! :)

I was at the game as well and I agree with BSguru's experience. It was just nuts, the crowd was making my ears bleed. It was heartbraking when ZT threw the pick and I was losing hope as we were looking to lose another one. My father in law (whose Hawkeyes lost and pissed him off but I got him to come with me anyways) kept saying, "it aint over" but I was so pissed, I didn't want to hear it. After we blocked the FG, I said it was time for ZT to step up and lead us down the field. I kept holding my breath until we got in the endzone, it was awesome being one of the few Sker fans to stand up and yell, all the Aggie fans were naturally pissed saying he(Purify) pushed off and Fran needs to go, etc. The Aggie fans were first class people congratulating us and hoping we beat UT in the CCG.

On the way home we were listening to the post game and the guy was saying how Aggie fans never boo(I guess its a long tradition), but when we held them on 3rd and short they had to kick the FG. That is when the boos came out. The overall impression I got was Fran needs to go. One guy I talked to said the only thing he has done is turn A&M into a basketball school. I guess they're pretty pissed.

Overall great experience, great game and I'll defintently make the roady next time. We are 3-0 in the last three games I've went to (A&M, Alamo, and Baylor)! GBR!
