Just Met Alex Henery

International Man of Mystery
I lived 38-ish years in this state and in that time I think I ran into Tom Osborne once, and just about nobody else from the Huskers. But in the last couple of years I've been meeting all kinds of people from the team, Bo, Ekeler, Zac Lee, Crick, a few girls from the volleyball team, and now about an hour ago I ran into Alex Henery at the grocery store. I was talking to the produce guy and looked over at this dude a couple of feet away and there he was.

I said, "Is your name Alex?"

He kind of laughed and said, "Yeah."

I shook his hand, told him, "I don't know what to tell you, man. Just... thanks. Thanks for everything."

He's a small dude. It's hard to imagine that he generates so much force kicking that ball in such a small frame. Like everyone else from the team, he was easy going and friendly. He shook my hand a couple of times and made some genial chit-chat. Nice guy.

Maybe it's because I've been hanging out on HuskerBoard that I've suddenly got the luck? Hmmmm........

Knapplc, I think now is the best time to bring this up: you gotta stop stalking the players and coaches man..it doesn't look good for the anonymous posters out there being affiliated with you.

:cheers

I have run into many huskers over the years. Tommie Frazier multiple times, Eric Crouch (Was my neighbor) in Millard, Johnny Rodgers my wife actually worked for him when they put on the Huskers Heisman years back and had dinner with him several times. Ahman Green numerous times. It just seems wherever I go I always run into a husker.

are you tom osborne?

Now this is just getting weird. At the bagel shop this AM I talked to Rex Burkhead and Andrew Green. Nice guys, friendly, and the two cute college girls in front of them in line were giggling about the cute boys.

I have no explanation for why I'm seeing all these football players all over all of a sudden. It's uncanny.

i dont know what i would do if i lived in Lincoln and got to see the team that much in such a setting... honestly i dont really cruise or notice UH football players too much... its kinda hard to tell as the island is already heavily populated with large polynesian guys anyways.....

when i was living in the bay area i did always seem to run into Jerry Rice and Steve Young ALL the time... I ran into Jerry rice like a couple times a year at random places and always saw Steve young at this luxury grocery store by my college alot... i actually talked to him and he was cool... he was very handsome and had really really nice eyes....

cool cat

I would be more excited about seeing the volleyball players over football players any day. But that's just me.

I had to go to lincoln to talk to an advisor for 20 minutes..saw Martinez, Dijon Washington, Ron Kellogg, and Eric Martin on a 5 minute walk. Just wander around campus :LOLtartar

In the hubbub of last Saturday I forgot to mention that as we walked in to the Volleyball match after the football game, the players came out of the locker room hootin' and hollerin'. I was standing right there, so I gave them high-fives as they ran down the hall to the court to warm up. Some of those girls smack pretty hard.

K-Nap you are truly blessed. I live in Sioux Falls, SD and have run to Tommie Frazier 4 Times. C-Bear's first few days on campus were marked by riding on a dorm elevator with Castile, ( "Hi, I'm Q and this is Nate and Roy.") Nate Swift and Roy Helu. When you are truly RED good things happen to you.
