Keith Brumbaugh

Rivals had a few threads that this kid was in town today and apparently committed? I can't seem to read anything about this or verify it anywhere. Anyone have any insight/knowledge to this.

What a huge commit this would be for Collier and the Husker basketball team.

He has not committed yet, but is on campus right now. But he has major academic hurdles.

Also former NU commit Walt Harris who backed out of his verbal with NU and said his mother was sick and he would be attending a prep school has decided to attend UConn this year. Talk about immature.

Collier may land Florida's Mr. Basketball

BY CURT McKEEVER / Lincoln Journal Star

Keith Brumbaugh, Florida's Mr. Basketball, once had his eyes on the 2005 NBA Draft. Now, they're on Nebraska.

On Thursday, Brumbaugh's high school coach at DeLand, Fla., John Zeoli, said the 6-foot-8, left-handed forward has the Huskers on his short list of colleges.

That's an interesting situation, considering Nebraska has no scholarships left to offer for next season.

Brumbaugh, who applied for the NBA Draft and then withdrew before Tuesday's deadline, averaged 30.3 points, 12 rebounds and 4.9 assists for DeLand High this past season.

"He's showing a lot of interest in Nebraska right now," Zeoli said. "A guy asked me ‘Why? Nebraska really hasn't been a frontrunner in the Big 12.' I think Keith knew he could get a lot of exposure and probably turn that program around.
