Keith Jackson

I felt sorry for him during the broadcast, because he seemed to be really slipping with his memory and eyesight. He made many many mistatements about the players and the field postion and the ref calls. His partner had an uncomfortable time trying to correct what he said in a respectful way. KJ's time has come; the TV execs need to move him out to pasture, so he is not embarassed, further.

Yeah, it is kind of sad. The undisputed voice of college football for the past two decades (at least) might be past his prime. One of those things you hate to admit.

I don't care, I'll still take him over any other anouncer out there. He's one of the reasons I actualy watched that game.

I don't usualy like to watch games involving that much hype and two teams whom I've historicaly hated. I didn't watch the LSU/Miami game for the same reason. I enjoy games called by Keith Jackson. He's like Pat Summeral, even if you don't care one wit about the game he can make it interesting and entertaining.

I love to watch my teams play, and I'm glued to my tv or my radio every minute of those games. But when I've got no emotional involvment in the game, I'm more than likely just going to turn to that game because there's nothing else on TV and go wash the dishes. If I'm going to watch a game not involving the Huskers, the Broncos, or UNC then there's going to have to be something about the game that overcomes my innate apathy about a game that I otherwise just don't give a sh#t about.

Kieth Jackson isn't the only reason I watched the title game. I love watching Vince Young play football, that's another reason. I'd never gotten around to seeing Bush play in the context of a full game, that's another. But come on, I'm less of a football fan because I like to have good, exciting anouncers to call the games I watch?

I'm apparently one of the few football fans who have thought for years that Keith Jackson and Pat Summerall were full of hot air and only contributed contrite and too obviously meaniless dialogue with no seasoned thought about the game at all.

When I can tell quite easily that the offense has just gone 3 yards and the ref is showing that a first down was made, and then KJ states otherwise in doubt, something is seriously wrong with faculties and/or eyesight. To me it was embarrasing.

To be fair to them, neither had decent color guys for most of their careers so they had to fill up the airtime somehow. I'm prolly just be apologetic though.

Not to mention he has been all over Pete Carroll's jock for the past three years!
