Keller critism

On ESPN's college football wrap up podcast Ivan was asked about Rudy Carpenter's performance, this is his transcribed quote: "To me, how stupid is - or what I'm saying is - this continues to make Sam Keller look stupid. He could of played and was needed. He could've helped Arizona State tremendously, yet he's in Nebraska running the scout team"

I think it is funny. That coach crapped on Keller so he could keep Carpenter around and now he probably wishes he had Keller back. This whole mess is on the coach and he should take whatever comes with it.

Whats that old saying? The grass isn't always greener on the otherside of the fence?

I'm sure when Keller is on the field next year leading us to a Big 12 title and National title that he will really be thinking how much better it would be if he would of stayed at ASU and lead a good team to just a decent record.

I find this statement to be truly amazing. The reporter is blaming Sam Keller for ASU's problems? The coaching staff isn't to blame? Only a true idiot would make such a claim.

Someone should tell them about the team Keller is inheriting next year. Compare that team to ASU and then tell me it was a bad choice.

Uh, WTH? Keller wouldn't be playing if he had stayed. I think Ivan needs to get his facts straight.

I agree with that. Ivan should point the finger at Koetter. It's his dumbass mistake that made Keller want to leave.

And yet, I bet there are ASU alumn saying that it would be better to be 3rd or 4th string at ASU than to be a starter anywhere else.

Scott Frost transferred back to UNL, and his first year was a little less than expected. Taylor's first year I'm sure was a little less than expected if you ask him. So, what do we really expect from a QB that only has 1 year eligibility left? Idk, but I do know that running the scout team is a lot different than actually playing in the games. I'm not saying Keller will be bad. I'm just saying that I don't expect much especially early next year. We'll have some weapons, but gee another QB with little eligibility left. If we're gonna take this kind of gamble, let the freshman play!

Living out here, (in Tempe area) I was looking forward to seeing Keller challenge for the Heisman, or at least. Lead ASU to a win over USC. (Koetter actually likes to score in ALL posessions against the Trojans) <_<

I thought having Keller start was a "no-Brainer" since he was doing so well last season prior to his season ending injury.

Carpenter did very well in relief but against much weaker competition in the 2nd half of ASU's schedule...

I was sooo dissapointed when Koetter caved under pressure from Rudy's Dad and changed his mind the day after he announced Keller was starting in the opener..but figured, Sammy would get plenty of playing time as ASU hasn't gone a whole season without injuring a starting QB for the last 9 years...

I was actually hoping he'd stay, until I found out he was considering my Favourite team to transfer to..We're all going to enjoy watching him play for NEBRASKA after he spends this season absorbing the system and staying sharp as a practice dummy.
