Nice get Coach!

Lincoln -- University of Nebraska men’s basketball coach Tim Miles announced Monday that Georgetown assistant coach Kenya Hunter has been named an assistant coach for the Husker basketball program.

Hunter was the longest-tenured assistant on John Thompson III’s Hoya staff, and was instrumental in helping Georgetown to a pair of Big East titles (2008 and 2013), five 20-win seasons and five NCAA Tournament bids over the last six years. His teams were ranked in the top 10 during each of the past six seasons and were either a No. 2 or No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament four times in that span.

Wow. That's pretty impressive. Curious what attracted him here as it would seem to be a lateral move (at best).

Great hire for this staff. Has recruiting ties in NC and has been involved in developing Roy Hibbert and Otto Porter.

Talk about being torn....... I am a Husker first and foremost in every sport !!! Alumni, ticket holder, etc.....blah, blah, blah

BUT, like many on the board, I have another team ( only in basketball) that I root for, and I have been a life-long Hoya fan. This is great news for the Huskers and I am excited. Can't figure out why he would leave DC and the Hoyas for Nebraska...but not important.

This is a loss for the Hoyas, which stinks for the Hoya fan in me. I would say the change in Conferences from the Big East to the Catholic 7 has something to do with it..... The Big 10 will be a much more prestine league than the new Catholic 7 (or whatever it is called.)

Mind boggling. Very happy and impressed. But extremely mind-boggling to say the least. New factilities? Does this Hunter fella see something there that we dont yet?

My only guess is that perhaps the new AD is opening up the pocketbook for basketball as well. :dunno

After not making the NCAA Tournament last year, I was on the fire Tim Miles bandwagon. Now, I kind of want him to stick around for a couple more years.

Holy smoke! I have no idea how we pulled it off. Wow... This program is on a fast track to relevance. I never thought I'd be typing that.
