Kerry Collins: National Championships

Very minor thing but I had to post. During the Raiders vs Redskins game they have a flashback of Kerry Collins throwing 'long balls' in HS... then at Penn State. during the PSU highlight the normally good announcer (Enberg?) notes that Collins "won the national championship" with Joe Paterno while at Penn State.

Collins played for PSU from 1991 to 1994 (although for some reason the nfl broadcast extended his college career to include 1995). maybe its just me but i don't remember Penn State winning any national championships during that time...

No they never won it, but in my opinion they should have shared it with Nebraska

1991 - CU/GTech

1992 - Miami?

1993 - FSU

1994 - NU

Pretty sure he was referring to 1994. even though, opinions aside Red, they DID NOT win the championship. should could would- it didn't happen. period. It just seems strange that 10+ years later, some people remember PSU winning a championship that year.

maybe just another example of the illusions that engulf the Big 10 fan base/media.

On the other hand, if an undefeated season automatically = a national champion... we have a few more than 5 titles. :cheers
