Dear Huskers,
It's been about a year and 8 months since I designated my #2 team as the Huskers after the Gator Bowl. I do not own any Husker apparel, I've never been to Lincoln or even Nebraska at all for that matter, and I have only attended one game with which I was pulling for the other team. But you better bet your tail that if I'm at home on a Saturday and the Huskers are playing on tv, it's on. If I'm sitting in Death Valley during a Clemson game and the Huskers are playing, my blackberry is pulled up to ESPN's scoreboard and focused on that team from Lincoln.
I want to thank you guys for welcoming me into your Huskerboard family, and especially thank those like T_O_Bull, knapplc, Landlord, Maudie, Roxy, 808, BRI, Blackshirtsguru, CENTEX, Minnesota_Husker, irafreak, drowning, redout, fro, even Cy and many, many others that I unfortunately am forgetting at the moment. You've all supported me through many problems and I hope that I can do the same for many of you.
So I know now you're thinking, he's just saying this to get some rep points from us Nebraska fans. Untrue. I do not live my Huskerboard life based on rep points, and I hope that you guys know that I'm sincere in my admiration for the Huskers and how they play football. I wish Clemson would play more like Nebraska, and they're making strides, but not quite there. It is the discipline, the pagentry, the pride, the fire, the hard-nosed beauty that is Nebraska Football. That's what I love to see. KFC does chicken right, Nebraska does football right.
So now, onto the good stuff...
Let us pray:
Dear Lord, the battles we go through life,
We ask for a chance that's fair
A chance to equal our stride,
A chance to do or dare
If we should win, let it be by the code,
Faith and Honor held high
If we should lose, we'll stand by the road,
And cheer as the winners go by
Day by Day, we get better and better!
