Kobe Bryant to Retire After the Season

Not any sort of a Kobe fan but have to respect his ability.

Feel bad for the way his career is unfolding at the close.

Now I need to find a new reason to enjoy the NBA.

Sad to see him go. He was instantly my favorite player when he joined the league. Lot of fun years watching the Lakers win championships with him. Now I probably won't watch the NBA at all.

Lots of the greats play too long. Kobe will be remembered by his decade plus of dominance. No one remembers Jordan in a Wizards jersy just like no one will remember these last few rough seasons for Kobe.

Him leaving will do wonders for the Lakers too. $25 million in additional cap space to attract guys to LA? If they don't completely bunk it up LAL can be back in the playoff hunt quick.
