Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong — the starter for most of 2013 and all of 2014 — has the experience advantage among the Huskers' signal callers. New NU offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf doesn't argue or deny that.

"It's edge for him because he has played a lot of games, which you can't simulate," Langsdorf said. "But we also need to look at our roster, have a clean slate and make sure we're playing the best guy that we feel can give us a chance to win.

"If we rolled the ball out tomorrow, you'd probably see Tommy take the first snap. But I don't know anything about the roster at all. Just because he was the starter, it doesn't mean a whole lot, but he has won a lot of games. And the fact that he's got that experience is great. We want to look at what's on our team and truly give guys an opportunity to win the job."
