Greg Sharpe was just on our local sportstalk and when asked about Larry he said he's dinged up pretty bad and gave him 50/50 he'd play.

 
nothing against asante but i would like to see what culbert and thenarse can do side by side for a full game...................

 
We're going to need all the D-backs we can get against their offense. I don't care what you think of his abilities, Asante being out is bad news.

 
Well, I know I have been hard on Asante, but it was mostly because I was frustrated and annoyed after the VT loss.

The truth of the matter is that Nebraska has a young, inexperienced secondary, and Asante is not the only one making mistakes.

 
If he is going to be our starter from here on out, I certainly hope he is able to understand the game plan and be more disiplined. He has the potential just hasn't come along very fast. We really don't need any brain farts this weekend.

 
Ya nothing against Asante but I too would like to see Thenarse, Culbert, or even Hagg take over. I was really frustrated with Asante after that loss to Tech and I picked on Asante the most because everytime there was a big play, it was mostly Asante's guy or a play on his side. Hopefully he'll come into the game more concentrated than what he did last week.

 
Asante's a phsyical specimen. He's athletic and has great size and speed. He just can't seem to get down the defensive schemes...at all. If he had that memorized he's probably be one of the best safeties in the Big 12.

It's a good thing we have him for another year though, trust me.

 
Asante is just not there yet mentally. I mean on that punt inside our own 10, how can you not even get a HAND on anyone when you are a key blocker? That is not just a minor mistake, that was a BIG mistake. He didn't even make a move towards the guy until he was past him.

I agree I want to see what Culbert and Thenarse can do. I do not even want to hear their names called in the game unless it is with the words "interception" or "broken up" or "great coverage" or "huge hit".

ya know at first i was disgusted with Asante but i'm sure he learned from it ... let's try and lay off ol' Larry and hopefully he comes back and makes up for it :thumbs

 
He may very well be a physical specimen, but he lacks the knowledge. Its very unfortunate that he seems to get confused easily and just cant get it. Hopefully he will come around, but i would think if was going to ever get "it" he would have by now. Lets just hope he is a shade better than Andrew Shanle. <_<
