I would have to say that Hightower from Bama wins this award, the dude is awesome! LaVonte is awesome too, but I don't see him beating out Hightower.

Where's the highly touted Chris Borland from Wisconsin!? Hmmm....not trying to make fun of the young man, but he seems like a solid LB...I wouldn't say he is better than David though.

Best named award in sports.....awesome to have a Husker on the list

I wouldn't be surprised if Hightower gets it just because he plays for Alabama, but hopefully David will be in the top 3.

I was happy to hear this the other day on the radio. Whether he wins or not is beyond me since I really do not follow how these awards are voted on/selected. I do know that it is a real joy watching him play.

Gotta love Lavonte. He represents the University tremendously on and off the field. He's surrounded by some good players on that list. It'd be hard for him to take it home with Hightower and Burfict on there.

Get David a blackshirt. Even if that means handing it out to only one player. He's really the only player that deserves one so far this season.

Lavonte David is indeed a blast to watch. He has it all. Grit. Toughness. Heart. Violence. And... he plays smart, efficient and with great technique. Great player and wonderful Husker.

Way to Go Lavonte and the sky is the limit for you. We'll cheer for you on Sundays wherever you go. Glad you were a Husker --- and we hope you win the award... certainly you deserve it.

Lavonte David is an amazing player. He made an impact upon arriving and it's too bad (for us) we don't get him longer.

Unfortunately for David, I don't think he will win. Not because he's not as good as the others on the list, but because our defense was just not very good, so that kind of unfairly reflects on his season.
