From OWH:

Nebraska defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove said Monday it's too soon to tell if strongside linebacker becomes Lance Brandenburgh's home after spring football practice.

Brandenburgh was moved because Stewart Bradley is recovering from knee surgery and not taking part in contact drills this spring. Cosgrove said Brandenburgh has handled the job well through eight practices.

"He improves every day - plays smart, a good blitzer off the edge, good in coverage," Cosgrove said. "I've been very pleased with his progress."

Bradley, a two-year starter at strongside linebacker, is expected to be ready when preseason camp starts in August. The Huskers already have Steve Octavien and Bo Ruud at weakside linebacker and Corey McKeon and Phillip Dillard at middle linebacker.

Brandenburgh practiced last season at middle linebacker before moving to weakside after injuries to Octavien and Ruud, making his first career start in the Alamo Bowl.

"It's not that he's not playing well at the position he's been at, but he's an unselfish guy and he does whatever he can for the team," Cosgrove said. "We'll find a home for him. We'll just see what happens the rest of the spring, but he's there (strongside) because that's where we need him right now."

just another plus towards our linebacking corps. Very strong and talented group, the obvious strength of our D (besides Carriker) :worship
