Les Miles

Almost wonder if the LSU AD gave him a choice of being fired at the end of the year or fired now so he could get an early jump in his job search. I know they weren't happy with him, but firing after 2-2 in week 5 seems crazy

In what capacity? I doubt he'd accept a job as anything less than head coach, I think Riley's finally starting to put something together for Nebraska, and we sure as hell don't need to be paying the salaries of three coaches at the same time.

He's be a good get. Be co-coordinator. Be part of a Nebraska turnaround. Keep in the back ground and then re-surface in a year or two.

Is Miles that good of a coach? I've always seen him more as a Mack Brown type, who is better at recruiting than coaching, and whose teams always seem to underperform based on their level of talent.

No particular capacity at all. I agree that he probably won't go anywhere as anything but a head coach, and there's next to a 0% chance that we could get him on board. Just throwing it out there because I don't think you can have enough great coaches on 1 staff.

Miles needs elite talent to do well as a HC, and even with that, he struggled at times. No matter where he ends up, he's never going to find talent even remotely close to what he had at LSU.
