Everyone seems to think that Les Miles would be the logical choice to replace Lloyd Carr at Mich if he is gone at years end as many think he will be. Why wouldn't Bo just stay where he is and take the helm there? He is loved and respected there, why not stay? Could NU entice him enough.........any thoughts???? :restore

I still don't think we should automatically assume that he is the one for us. Let's be picky and find the right guy for sure this time. I don't want to go through all these changes every 4 to 5 years anymore.

I dont think he would automatically be the choice for HC there either. I know a lot of LSU fans, and their having the same debate most Nebraska fans are having and that Kugler and whats his name had today on 1620...at a top notch program, is it acceptable to hire someone with no HC experience?...Not saying he won't be offered the job, I just wouldnt automatically assume so...

i don't think Carr gets let go at Michigan. they could still win the Big 10/11. it's funny to say that, and then watch this weekend as the Maize and Blue go down to the up and coming Illini

I agree I want to get this right and I want to be thoughtful about it. I was on the Bo bandwagon but I'm more open to suggestions now, I think a lot of people got caught up in the situation as I did.

This was just a hypothetical query. I want to be sure about our next HC as the rest of you. I know that many have thought Bo might possibly go to aTm as well. Between the 2 schools which one in your opinions would have the most appeal.( be objective) :restore

Between A&M and NU - Nebraska has appeal that he knows us and we know and want him. He also gets the added benefit of the "look at me SP, you're not here and I am" - which would throw us over the top. A&M, being that is in Texas, has more fertile recruiting grounds in the immediate vicinity.

However, if LSU is open, he takes that, no question about it.

b/c Bo's wife hates Baton Rouge and misses their church and friends in Lincoln. If we want him, we can get him

Carr's job is there as long as he wants it to be. If he decides to retire, then he will retire.

Given the options mentioned of NU, A&M and LSU it would have to run

LSU - no rebuilding needed, and great recruiting ground.

NU - tradition, and once you are a winner, you about walk on water.

A&M - more dicey job, while it is in Texas, it is always second fiddle to Texas.

How about the opportunity to coach under Tom Osborne??

I think BIGREDIOWAN is right we need to be picky.....buuut I don't want some washed up coach over Pelini just because the old guy has the HC experiance and Pelini doesn't.

oh ya and uh.....go michigan???....
