Limus Sweed

As one of the comments says, I believe those shows are taped either Saturday night or early Sunday. Many coaches tunnel vision their current week's opponents and don't look forward at all. It's entirely possible he hadn't even given Texas a second thought when this was taped, which would be normal.

Stop reaching. There is plenty to dislike about Callahan without stretching so far.

How is that far fetched?
Its not. Callahan should have known about this. Limus Sweed is probably one of the top 5 recievers in the nation and he is in our conference. Anytime there is a big injury to a big time player, EVERYONE knows about it..........accept for the NU head coach. What a joke!

The guy has been out since Oct 8th. If Callahan was going to mention him, he should have known that he was out. I just thought it was funny and by funny I mean sad.

Well, it doesn't matter how long he's been out for, that's the thing. Callahan may have heard about it when it happened, or maybe he didn't. At the time I doubt he cared much since he was busy preparing for whatever game he had that week.

I'm not saying it's an intelligent comment, but it doesn't reflect very poorly on him except to people looking to nitpick every little thing he says/wears/thinks/maybe thinks but probably doesn't but oh well it's a rumor/etc. He could easily have forgotten about it if he did hear about it when it happened, and he wouldn't be looking ahead to the Texas game until this week. And that show was almost certainly taped BEFORE he'd be starting in on Texas.

So yeah, stop reaching.

lol, like I said, way to reach. Keep digging, I'm sure you guys will find tons of other little tidbits to b!^@h about.
That's not reaching at all. It's a prime example of Callahan's "preparation". Kind of like how he's still "recruiting". As fans, this type of thing is very concerning. Why are you minimizing the fact that our head coach doesn't even know what personnel the other team will be playing?

:yeah

He was just reaching for some soundbite about the UT game before he even looked at the matchup. If he had given an indepth, accurate analysis of the UT game you'd be blaming him for looking past A&M.

I'm disappointed in BC, too. But not eveything bad that happens in the universe is his fault, and not everything he says and does is arrogant and moronic.

Because he doesn't NEED to know until he starts preparing for Texas this week. And that show was most likely taped before he even looked at the Texas info, as they all are.

Does he even know who we will be fielding Saturday? I mean the last I heard Ruud and a few others were questionable for the game. Maybe he's more concerned who we will have on the field rather than who Texass will have.

Everyone is bitching about the team not being prepared each week. Well, as I said, it wasn't the most intelligent comment, but it's understandable. So now you want him looking ahead past the current week's game? If so, stop bitching about the team being unprepared each week.

Ok, is this about what he said during the weekly press conference on Tuesday? If that's the case, then it wouldn't have been taped early, I think. But here is the full quote from that press conference:

On Texas quarterback Colt McCoy

"I think that he's a guy that has all the throws. He's a smart guy. The thing that impresses me is that the accuracy is there. He has talent around him and can make the big play at any time. Going back to last year's game, the play to (Limas) Sweed, he can get you at any time. He knows where his talent is, where his receivers are aligned and mismatched and I think he has a great understanding of how to utilize that. Preventing the big play will be huge this week as we go to Texas."

If that's what this is all about, then it's even more retarded than I originally thought. Obviously in this quote he's not talking about Sweed playing against us this season.
