Riley Milhon is your ordinary high school kid, but he has connections with blue-chip recruits across the country.
It all started last May, when Milhon saw a tweet from a four-star running back in Mississippi. Kylin Hill was requesting a splashy graphic — an edited image — to show his followers. Milhon hadn’t done anything with Photoshop since middle school, but he sent Hill a direct message that he’d give it a shot.
Milhon watched a YouTube tutorial, then grabbed an image of Hill off Google. He pasted the image in Photoshop and then Topaz Labs, where he added a series of brushes and effects, and — voila — he’d produced a little promo for Hill’s recruitment.
Hill, who eventually committed to Mississippi State, was so impressed that he suggested Milhon start an account.
“From there, it’s kind of taken off,” Milhon said.
His Twitter handle with more than 2,000 followers — @GBRDesigns — suggests he might be affiliated with Nebraska’s social media team. He’s not, but he does produce edited images for several Husker recruits.
