Listen Up Huskerboard

Let me start Im not trying to pump sunshine,

We lost.

It sucks.

Im pissed.

but seriously I come on here just to check the site out and see what people are saying and all I see is

-fire watson

-lee sucks

-blaming a player for losing a game, different people picking different players

It makes me sick especially the name calling and blaming of players, things like calling Asante a Thug are completely uncalled for. It's frustrating for all of Husker Nation but I would like to come on here one time after a loss and not see half this board picking apart husker nation and throwing someone under the bus.

I realize people will always take out their frustration on here right after a game, but use your heads before posting and making the whole fan base look stupid.

Go Big Red!

NU played a great game, and it hurts bad to lose, but i know i am proud and optimistic. the future is bright and the huskers played hard with heart, they deserve more respect and pride than afforded by this board.

especially because you are all just spectators criticizing the players, who are the ones on the field and the loss counts most to them. all of our players played as hard as the could and the chips fell were they fell.

I'm with you huskerguy. I was just about to post a positive thread just to give the board some balance.

While I understand the level of frustration oozing from the fans, there is nothing we can do about it. Venting is our only form of expression after a heartbreaker like this one, but let's try to see the positives that came out of tonight's game.

-- You can bet our recruiting will get a nice jolt from this performance.

-- We're still going bowling and have a chance at a 10 win season.

-- If anyone tweets on Twitter, type in Suh in your search and you'll see all the ESPN analysts jumping on the Suh bandwagon for Heisman consideration.

-- If anything else, we basically face-f*#ed the media whores who said we'd get blown out tonight.

-- Last but not least, Suh had a record setting night and made a HUGE statement.

It's okay Husker fans. I feel your pain. We'll get over it though. Wallow in this loss for a day or so and then bounce back and focus on the next task at hand. There's still 4 quarters of football left to be played.

Im glad there are some sane people here... again Im not trying to pump sunshine or anything, I'm as pissed as anyone but what good comes out of coming on here and tearing each other apart.

Stay strong husker nation, the ones who can take this loss and move on will just make next years Championship that much sweeter.

after letting the finish settle, i'm feeling pretty good. we will always have a good 'd' with Bo at the helm, we are going to be great next year, any great defensive high schooler will want to play for the Pelini's, i can not go on with all of the positives.

we played with great heart and only lost by a last second field goal in a game we were predicted to lose by 14.

it is odd to be so negative when all you had to do is watch the loss, imagine the players, all of them played their hearts out and wanted it more than any of us. pretty un-classy to be criticizing the players after that one. and pretty lame criticizing the refs, good and bad calls go both ways, it does not determine the game, and if it does, well you were not putting yourself in a good enough position to win.

I'm proud as hell of my team right now. I just wish the effort was matched with a W tonight. It wasn't and that's just frustrating. HOWEVER, I do believe that Watson should not survive this season. To have been here for four years, three of those with Zac Lee, and have the offense like this is just inexcusable. Something needs to be done about that.

i should add, NU is getting a lot of respect (especially SUH), they realize that our 'D' is legit. we will be great next year, now lets go win a bowl game.

I would never criticize a player after a heart wrenching game like that, but I can't in anyway defend Watson. He deserves to be and should be criticized for that embarrassing offensive display. I know Texas's defense was good, but the lack of creativity and his complete predictability was truly embarrassing. I'm proud of every player on that team, but Watson should be ashamed of himself.

I concur. The only reason to ever call for a player's head is if they committed murder or violated some laws, not because your team loses. Games are played as part of a team, not individuals. There are all kinds of hidden underlined factors that may've gone into a bad or bonehead play that nobody looks for. To baselessly call for a player to be kicked off the team because we lost makes you look like pissy, vague, butthurt-buttercup to the rest of us.

Concerning Watson... he may be in hot water, definately. But ultimately it is Dr.Tom who'll make the call to pull the plug on Watson or not. To rant and rave about how much you hate Watson is just... quite frankly... a waste of time.

Any of the hate directed at officials and ESPN is totally legit, however. :espnsucks: :espnsucks: :espnsucks:

We have to stop blaming the officials. It was a great game and a great effort, but we fell short.

thank you. it is embarrassing and childish to blame the refs after a game like that. we had them were we wanted them and unfortunately they some how pulled it out, that is how the game is played. you need to post your sentiment in some other threads because i am getting ripped out there.

it is just classless to blame the refs, the players aren't, why should we. give UT due credit, they walked out with more points, do not take away their victory because of the refs, the quality of officiating has nothing to do with the players and they deserve the credit for wins and loses.
