LJS: Can Huskers Return to (at least) Mid-80s Form?

.

Lincoln is much nicer than many schools that are allegedly so much easier to recruit to than NU. In the B1G alone, you mean to have me actually believe Minnie, Wisky and MSU have advantages over NU.
It's not 1985 anymore. The schools you mentioned don't necessarily have "advantages", but the NCAA has taken steps toward equalization. Baylor and TCU are great examples.
I agree with the partial qualifiers and the scholarship limits, but no reason we can't recruit the talent to compete/beat the other schools in the B1G. I truly hope that MR can bridge the recruiting "issues" and coach the talent we have to compete and start winning and being talked about nationally again.

I will say the 2017 recruiting class could be a difference maker. Lets hope Mike Riley can successfully pull some of those kids from California we've spent a lot of time recruiting.
I agree with that! That '17 class, and its development, are going to be pretty important in determining whether Riley is going to be the one to stamp Nebraska back onto the map.
