Maliek Collins taking snaps with 1st team defense

Curry and Valentine.... and Collins. Wait, Collins and Valentine. Wait, Collins and Clinkscales. Wait, Clinkscales and Maurice.

Because they are using a rotation?

Nope.

Because the depth chart at DT is going to littered with the word OR because none of the guys win the job out right.

Few of these have seen the field. Our roster is littered with "potential" difference makers that never make a difference. If the depth chart is littered with "OR", it won't be a good thing. See our first 8ish games w/ the LBers this season for a perfect example. Someone in this bunch better step up.

If by "few" you mean "everyone but Clinkscales", then yes.

Yeah, guess I didn't really think of Collins as playing much. Forgot he got in there a little more late.

DT will be interesting next year - as I'm judging a lot of these guys on the fact they couldn't beat out Thad. Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Good thing we're stacked at DE. Hopefully VV steps up. Then I'm confident we can fill that other spot. But if we're rotating both because there isn't a clear starter, we might have some issues.

I've got no problem with the rotation concept. It makes the D-line deadlier if you've got a rotation going, particularly in the middle, but I would really like to see a guy or two step up and be the player(s) that other teams have to account for with a double team.

Seems to be that d-line rotations are in vogue now. If you have the horses, it can be very effective. The Seattle Seahawks run about 10 guys out there, and they just swarm qbs. The Lions do a good job of it aswell, but they aren't near as strong in the back-end.

McBride use to rotate his d-line 2 series for starters and 1 for back up if things were going well. NU should play 8 guys next year in the front 4.
