Meet NU's newest hoops recruit...

Walker, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound combo guard, committed Monday to Nebraska head coach Doc Sadler, rebuffing strong interest from Creighton, Northern Iowa, Evansville, Texas-Arlington and Nevada, among others.

Stellar.

normally i would say this was an okay pick up. however, doc needs a scorer to take over games, he has even said so himself. a kid averaging 16 points at his juco is not going to come in and light the big xii on fire. i sincerely hope doc is still on the recruiting trail and planning to kick someone off the roster to make room for his scorer. if he's expecting this guy to be "the one", next year could be just as long as this year

I actually saw him play when my neighbor played against Butler. He is a monster. Really athletic and has a pretty decent stroke. I wouldn't call him a game changer but he makes others better. Should be fun to watch him play here.

Maybe this kid is good..

But if he flops he just confirmed our thoughts of Doc being a bad recruiter.

Is Doc a great recruiter?? I don't think he has proven anything close to that. However, I will give him one thing that he got screwed by the University's admissions on, we had Robert Sallie here!! He wanted to come play here! He would be the man, the scorer we need right now if it wasn't for admissions screwing up his transcripts. So, given that, you kind of have to give Doc a little break for a couple years to see if he can get a guy like Sallie to come here.

I thought Eshaunte Jones was supposed to be the "scorer who takes over games." Was this guy overrated when he arrived? Is he still injured? Is he not being used correctly in the offense? What gives?
