One of the defining qualities of Bo and his teams is the lack of mental toughness, especially in the Big games. When you look at the two rosters from today, they stack up pretty evenly. Physically, we have what it takes to beat Wisconsin or other comparable teams. Just the fact that we easily beat Northwestern (which beat Wisconsin) is proof that we are not inferior from a talent perspective.
This all comes down to coaching and mental toughness. A mentally tough team would have been able to recover when a couple things didn't go our way, and our 17-3 lead vanished to a 17-17 tie. A mentally tough team would have found a way to turn around the momentum, and keep the game close on the road. Unfortunately Bo's teams are not mentally tough, and it doesn't take a genius to find out why. Just looking at his antics with the press, fans, and on the sidelines for the past 7 years shows that the output on the field each week is a direct reflection of him, and when the team is starting to lose it on the field, it should be no surprise as we have seen week in and week out Bo lose it on the sidelines.
