Mentality of coaching staff in recruiting changing?

How the hell is Eric a mod? This idvthe dumhest thread ive ever seen. J/k. Actually this thread is very good. I think the staff has truly dhown a step up on recruiting finally realizing recruiting is gonna makr or break them. Ive always felt our staff has been too lax with recruits. Yes, you want yo give them room and make them feel nor pressured to make a decision too quick but especiaally after thry gommit you need to make them understand its not right to look around or take vidits imo.
He's an admin, not a mod. But you're drunk, so pancake rabbit:

I think this case is definitely the outlier. We've more than many times told a kid to think his decision through and, even though it has cost us some recruits in the past, those recruits are assured that they are where they actually want to be.

I think the approach used by our staff (and I'm sure by many other staffs in CFB) fosters a sense of commitment to the team. I wonder how many current players think that they are truly where they want to be.

I think we don't know as much about the ins and outs of recruiting as we like to think we do and most of the info we get from anonymous internet sources and guys who work at the airport is probably of low quality and seeing Bye Bye Big XII with a red avatar is going to take some getting used to.

Recruiting is never being iconfident in your sale, until they sign on the dotted line. It can change at that last second. Continuous contact by any means necessary. Kids can change their minds instantly, by what a friend says, of a girlfriend thinks, mom decides against it. Recruiting is a very tough job. I think too much for full time coaches today. IE see Bama. The coaches are only closers it appears, and only when needed.

Towards the end of Vietnam, recruiting for the Marine Corps, was 7 day a week job, Monday through Saturday 8 to 8, Sunday 8-12 or 12 to 4. I know how hard it is, and this program and staff need help as all do, but we have more to overcome than the competition. Not only the local, but other recruiters using any and all things against us. I truly hope we increase the outside recruiting staff, by the same type of numbers that Bama, Florida State and others use.

I am not a believer in the go home and think about it idea. You close the deal at every opportunity, never accepting a second thought. Not a solid idea in sales on any level.

More reports from this past weekend's visitors that they felt the coaches were very honest and open with them. Definitely no pressure to commit. No pressure from current players as well. Players telling them they need to find the right school for them.

Slade is literally the only one I can remember with the opposite story. Not saying he isn't telling the truth but it sure seems that something wasn't taken in the manner it was intended at the worst.
