I was driving home to Omaha from Kearney on Sunday and my car ran out of oil between Gretna and Omaha. I get to drop $4000 to replace the engine.

Ooooo....that's gonna leave a mark. The motor in my wifes old car took a crap earlier this year. It was gonna cost about $2400 to drop a new motor in it.

It's had a problem of leaking a bit of oil the entire time I've owned it, but it was never a big deal as long as I made sure the oil was full before I went out on a long drive. Apparently the 1 degree caused it to go through oil much faster than usual and it took a crap.
It's a 2001 Toyota Corolla, which I just got in July.
