midseason funk

I really hope we don’t fall into a midseason funk for a 3rd straight year. Last year felt like I was watching the same movie over and over again. I just hope that we can stay focused in the middle of the year this time around. It's irritating to me how we do well in the beginning of the year, and then we have some losses that we have no business having, and then we finish the season strong by winning almost all of our games in the mid to later portion of the season.

Yeah, there’s the danger we come out flat after the massively overhyped UT game. It could be a letdown if we win or lose.

But I don’t think Pelini will let that happen. Then again, it seemed to happen to our offense at last year...

I think part of this has to do with having cupcake games in the beginning of the year. Hopefully we make it undefeated past Washington, and carry that momentum into the B12 schedule. I think the UW game is our make it or break it game.

I think the Washington game will be easier than people think. Bo will have his boys ready. Kstate im more worried about. The possibility of looking ahead to Texas, Manhattan will be rocking for a Thursday Night. Snyder will have guys ready, for sure.

The game that concerns me most is at A&M. It's the 2nd to the last game and the last road game. I expect we'll be undefeated up to that point with a lot of talk being made about NU's possibility of making it to the MNC. If that is the case, I hope the players remain focused on the task at hand otherwise, A&M can come up and bite you in the a$$ in a big way and that late in the season, it could be tough for them to recover enough to be considered a contender for the MNC.
