Miles Not Contacted By Michigan

If you're LSU's AD, you probably have to be a bit pi$$ed off right now. They gave Miles his first shot at a big time program. They're the #1 team right now, and they have a great shot at winning their second NC this decade. Right when things look so bright for LSU, now they have to worry about not only the focus of their HC but also whether or not he'll even be their HC next year.

One article mentioned Michigan possibly having to wait till after the MNC given LSU makes it before they could talk to Miles. Michigan however, may not be that patient especially with recruiting right around the corner.

HuskerFan,

One story I read said if Carr announces right away (which he did) he may also sabotage Miles chances since Miles won't be available for discussion possibly until after the NC game.

Les Miles doesn't deny interest in Michigan job but says he hasn't been contacted by Michigan. YET!

What would be their hurry, anyway? Miles or Michigan would have to pay his $1MM buyout contract clause to LSU if they want him.

Gee...think Michigan would get a better deal buying out his contract than Nebraska is buying out Callahan and Company.

LSU cannot be happy about the possibility of losing not one, but 2 key coaches.... :box

Miles may not have been contacted by Michigan, but there is nothing saying that the Michigan "people" haven't contacted the Miles "people". That way a person can honestly say they haven't been contacted.

There is an unwritten rule in college athletics: You don't contact a working coach about a position during the regular season.

I just hope Michigan doesn't strike first and take one of the candidates that Nebraska is interested in.

With Arkansas, A&M, and Michigan all looking for coaches at the end of this season, I really hope we aren't once again reduced to taking the #4 or #5 option among candidates.

Don't worry. Bill Callahan will probably just be the coach next year.

what about if we take gill? wouldn't buffalo be pretty pissed? they give him the shot, he performs pretty well, leaves for the place he played...

what if we get pelini and are contenders, and some time down the road, tressel retires.. they want bo, they get bo.. would we be pissed? seriously, you can't blame coaches for leaving for their "dream jobs".. just not realistic for them to not take it
