I don't even know the guys name..but I do know that Millard North at one time was tops in the country. Give him a try, at least he probably actually cares about Nebraska football.

Why not..Tom Osborne was a local boy who began his career helping Nebraska for free. A few years later he became head coach.

Because Petio is in his 40s-50s, not exactly a 27 year old energetic go getter that would take over a top program one day.

Wow. Just wow.

Yea, let's put the program in the hands of a high school coach. That's a good idea. You're comparisons to Osborne are laughable.

Wow. This is what it has come to? I guess they did beat Westside on Friday though.
Well sh#t! Sign him up!

I went to HS at MN. fred is a terrible coach.

dude has like 2 championships in 30 years and has had some of the greatest talent ever. He had Eric Crouch for 4 years and didn't win jack.

Fred is a GREAT high school coach and his record speaks for itself. It may have taken him a bit longer than it should have to start winning state titles, but the man knows what he is doing. He has had offers to coach at the college level, but has turned down everything because he loves his job....he loves where he is at. His players love him......they would run through a wall for him. I can say with great certainty that Petito is not the man the Huskers are looking for, but I hope they find a man LIKE him. Someone that the players love....someone they can really rally behind. Those kids buy into a system that the rest of the state continually bashes, yet few teams can stop em.
