minter

Good to see a long career for a Husker end on their own terms. Not kicked out of the league. Not injured. Not sent out to pasture. Long career. 1-team.

Speaking of Minter, isn't he under 6 feet tall, like perhaps 5 foot 10? What I'm getting at is height isn't everything. Maybe more so at the CB position.

Playing pick-up games at the rec center at UNL during college, we obviously played against student athletes, including the football players. When I was a freshman (keep in mind a 5'8", 140 lb. 18 yr. old white kid) I was guarded by Minter. About halfway through the game I went to throw a no-look pass that hit him square in the face. As I prepared to crap myself he came up to me, smacked me on the shoulder and said "That would've been nice if my head wasn't in the way".

I'm not comparing him to Grisby. Minter is clearly a much better player, and he is a safety, not a cornerback. It's comparing apples to oranges. All I'm saying is in today's world, Minter proves there are great safeties under 6 feet tall. That perhaps may not be the case at the cornerback position.
