I'm on the same page with him. He mentioned three plays that could had made a huge difference in the USC game. He mentioned the 14-yard run to the USC's 22-yard line that was called back, Booty's sack that turned into a 13-yard gain by Washington, and Grisby's missed interception attempt that looked like six points. He failed to mention Lucky's fumble in the third quarter. This game easily could had gone down to the wire. No, I think USC would had pulled it out due to its better talent, but I think the coaching staff had a solid game plan whether your agree or not. Look at the total offense statistics at the end of three quarters. USC only had a slight edge. But we made some mistakes and things didn't work out.
So don't listen to meda people such as Travis Justice or Brent Mushroomburger. Listen to Travis' partner on "Sports Sound Off," Dr. Rob (sorry, I can't spell his last name). He played the game in a big way at NU, and has more credibility than Travis. (I'm also on the same page with Rob.) We fans tend to be backseat coaches, including me, when we don't know nearly as much as the people who play and coach the game. Let's give Callahan more time to get the Husker program back to its rightful place. :thumbs
