hi everyone. my first post on this website. asking a media question here. is there anyone else who listens to morning A.M. radio getting tired of schick n nick(mainly schick) always starting rumors and flamin topics about bo? i sure am. thank god for iowa and thier troubles. maybe they can flame them up a little. i know its a boring time for sports guy but i think schick sometimes is just a hater. is it just me or do others feel the same? they are funny at times but i think sometimes they are hurtful. opinions?

i quit listening to them, i hate their show, they've done terrible interviews, and what not...i normally listen to a wisconsin sports talk show in the morning, lucas ans lupay.

I think if you get Schick's humor then they are funny. I grew up in Central Nebraska when Schick was the sports guy at the ABC affiliate in Kearney. I don't think they are flaming any topics either. So they have an alternate opinion on how they think Bo should act in front of the media. Big deal. That's the problem with a lot of Husker fans. If they EVER hear something said about their team that is negative or they don't agree with they get all butthurt and defensive. I live in KC now and they mention constantly about how Nebraska fans are the most defensive fan base ever and I can't say I disagree.

An example: The morning show here in KC for 810 is made up of a KU guy and a Mizzou guy. You can tell they are not fans of Nebraska and they will poke fun sometimes but they aren't over the top like Keitzman in the afternoon. One of the morning hosts mentioned something about how he didn't agree with something Pelini did during a game. How he acted or something. Then they did a show at a remote in a restaurant 2 days later ad got to the restaurant to set up and an idiot Nebraska fan was waiting for them to cuss out the guy before they could even get on the air. Who does that?

So what if someone has an alternate opinion than what you think or you don't agree with them!? Get over it and don't listen then. I swear people b*tch just to B*tch.

You think Nebraska is the only fanbase to have a few fans who would do something like that? Umm...ever been to a Missouri game? Some classy fans there. Heck even this years K-State game once again, lots of stories of classy fans there as well. Your home state I believe. Even outside of the Big 12. Auburn fans showing up at the airport with signs yelling at newly hired Gene Chizik as he got off the plane.

No offense but get a clue. It happens everywhere.

Did I mention a word about classless fan bases? I believe I was talking only about over-sensitive fans who start random message board topics about radio shows that don't agree with their opinions and hurt their feelings. No offense but read my post and stay on topic. I don't care about the class part and how other fans treat other bases. I don't think Nebraska is any better or any worse than anywhere else in that regard. I do care about fans who lack perspective and take anything said about the program or it's players or coaches personally like it was said about their mom. Like a certain morning radio show for instance. I still don't know what rumors they have started as Skull n bones said. I guess I don't like it that he is starting rumors about a morning radio show starting rumors.

You asked what fans wait to cuss out a Kansas City radio guy before his show starts. They were Nebraska fans who you also referred to as 'idiots'. Then you asked 'who does that?' Then I simply pointed out to you that fans in your very own state as well as fans at other colleges outside of the Big 12 have been know to do similar classless acts.

I dunno, I mean it doesn't seem unreasonable for me that people on a Husker message board would complain a little about a sports show being disparaging towards their coach..it's not like we're going to go burn down their sound studio (or are we? Anyone free Thursday night?) It's just a common discussion point. The guys are on the radio. They're gonna catch it from SOMEONE no matter what they say. Schick could make a comment about how awesome babies are and somewhere, a crazy baby-hatin' maniac is going to complain on his baby-hating message board about how much Schick seems to have a pro-baby bias.

Yeah, some people take what those guys say WAY too seriously, but they're on the radio so people will listen, and when people listen they're bound to form opinions. Message boards are a great way to voice them to people.

So instead of complaining about complaining, I'm going to go ahead and say welcome to the boards :cheers

Welcome to the board!I Don't listen to those guys, in fact I don't listen to sports radio much anymore. I get where your frustration is coming from and that is probably what turned me off of most sports talk shows, but one thing they do is get people riled up for ratings and listener response, that is their job. With some of the responses you are getting they are doing a good job of it. This has been an odd last couple of weeks with all the rumors about the program, but it is going on everywhere else too.
