Marion COunty, FL -- A Marion County mother was arrested for giving her child morphine to treat a cold.

Police said Marta Perkins used the morphine to treat her 2-year-old's chest congestion. Perkins had the morphine because she's battling cancer.

She was charged with child neglect.

The toddler did have to go the hospital, but should be okay.
