My Letter to UNL Regents

Washusker

Mr. Wilson,

I respectfully implore you to work with your fellow regents to replace Bill Callahan as head coach of the Nebraska football team. Mr. Callahan has had ample opportunity to make the Huskers a dominant program. Clearly, he is incapable of doing so. Tonight’s 41-6 debacle at the hands of Missouri is just the latest demonstration of why Coach Callahan is not the right man for the job. The passion, effort, and excellence that for so long defined Nebraska football is now gone. Gone. We need a fresh start. We need a winner. We need someone other than Bill Callahan. Please make it happen.

I sent this to each of the Regents the other night. Hoping to plant a seed, at least...

But....the real fallguy ought to be Steve Pederson. Get rid of a coach or two here and there and the main problems remains.....Pederson! <_<

Great start but lets say we get everyone on the board to send an email. Heck lets make it easy, someone who is really a good with words should write a letter as a template for everyone on the board and then all everyone will have to do is just email it to the regents. I mean we could do that or we could all sit here and b!^@h and moan for a few more years while Husker football continues to sink.

agreed, if nothing else we stuff their emails full! doubt they would get the picture though, people at that level tend to "breath their own exhaust"!

Anyone want to bet that this and the 100's of others just like it accomplish nothing? Whatever though. It's like writing to your local congressman or that crap at the end of the day the only person that reads it is some asst. or the delete folder.

Keep on keeping on. Take it to the streets. Burn bras or whatever you protesting kids do now a days.

true, you can bet these sad sacks have their spam filters set so tight it wouldn't let a broom staw up a camel's a$$!

I think they need to get ride of Pederson. This all rests on his shoulders.

Guys, let's see first if we have a losing season. Then you would have a reasonable debate on this, even though I am still not sure firing him would be the best thing at the end of the season unless Pedermoron has someone lined up to take the job. If he goes through a long search like last time, he ruins this year's recruiting class. At this point and time, even though I'm not that happy with B.C., I'd say get rid of the majority of the assistants after the recruiting season, and give B.C. a couple of more seasons to fix this. However my feelings on this could certainly change at the end of the season.

If you so choose to write a letter to the UNL regents, consider the fact that over 90% of these letters will be regarded as frivolous and written by a bunch of whinning fans. So you better have a master writer who knows the game of football extremely well to have a shot of this letter getting read. Otherwise it will end up in the waste basket. You will have to present powerful and master argument why Callahan needs to go. But also demand that Pedermoron better have someone in line to hire and not go through his ego trip long search. If he can't find anyone near or right after the end of the season, then this would not be the appropriate time to fire B.C.
