  1. Nate Gerry, S, Nebraska
Gerry took a step back from an outstanding 2014 campaign, but he still enters 2016 as one of the nation’s best safeties. His play-making ways led to the second-best coverage grade in the nation in 2014, though he needs to cut down on his 25 missed tackles over the last two years. Still, Gerry has good instincts and he’ll anchor the back end for Nebraska this season.

Only Nebraska player in the top 101

Sure he took a step back. Because he got ejected from two games. He got ejected for hitting so damn hard, not for targeting or cheap shots (They weren't.) Gerry might be one of those players who does better in the NFL than college. He's smart and he hits like a ton of bricks. And they don't make bullsh#t targeting calls in the NFL like they do in college ball.

Throw in a new system as well. Dude is a beast. I expect him to really flip the with this year.

He had some rough patches this year, though, which is where I think they make the "step back" comment. But, I'm excited to see what kind of a season he puts together.

The second ejection of Gerry's was an absolutely, horrible, terribly disgusting call...the first one just sucked big time. <_<

Yeah, I don't think the first one was targeting but it sure LOOKED like it was so I can kind of forgive it.

What was pathetic about the second was was the flag itself was bad enough but if you can't overturn that call via replay, what's the use of even reviewing any of them?

Especially if they use it on the training tape for the officials as an example of a legal hit.

Saw him while touring the stadium yesterday. He is completely jacked. Our wrestlers that play football did not believe me that he is a safety!!!

Hope he has a great year!

im thinking he took a half step back year and will take 3 steps forward this year - partly due to knowledge of system, supporting cast and complete buy in!!!!

Gerry will kill it this year IMO. Should be in the running for post season awards as well as AA status. Anything less than all B1G will truly be a surprise to me.

Mentioned another thread, the AA safeties (stat wise) not really much different than his.

The secondary may not get the results everyone expects if the DL falls off from last year. We lost some key players, and the replacements are not proven. With average to above average DL play, Gerry should be a 1st or 2nd round pick.
