Should Nathan Gerry be a LB? He is nearly the same size as two great husker LBs, and he has the speed. We have plenty of DBs, I say get the speed on the field.

Nathan Gerry 6'2" 210 lbs

Lavante David 6'1" 210 lbs

Demorrio Williams 6'1" 215 lbs

 
Well, that's what is happening. With all that has been said.........wouldn't be too surprised to see him on the field in a few packages.

 
I may get bashed for this, but I think he is small for a LB in the B1G. I understand that they said the same thing about David, but David had a knowledge of the game you can't teach. He always found his way to the ball. I am not saying that Gerry can't or doesn't have that, but we have yet to see that in the collegiate level. If he gains some weight, I would agree with him playing at LB, but 210lbs isn't going to cut it, unless he has the intangibles that David had. Williams played in the Big 12, where offensive lines weren't as big, and speed become more favorable over there. I am not taking anything away from him, but it would be interesting to see if he could do what David did.

 
He definitely has the speed......

If he has the instincts and the tackling ability......I don't see a reason why not to let him play at his current weight. I think a few more lbs wouldn't hurt him, but I like SPEED. hehe

 
IMO 210 is big enough. NU got killed by speed last year. L. David was listed at 210 for NU, but he is listed at 233 for Tampa Bay. He doesn't look 23 lbs heavier to me. I am all for Gerry gaining a few pounds and playing LB as long as he doesn't slow down. I just don't want to see speed sitting on the bench while opposing RBs and TEs drag across the middle for big gains.

I would also know where you found that. I did my research and I found nothing that wasn't far off from the OP, besides Omaha's

I know Scout said something on Wednesday about him getting time at Buck. Not sure if they mention weight, as I am not a member though.
